Hello,

Recently I have seen a number of calls to join NW-Trail as response to the lack of action in opening Mountain Bike opportunities in Forest Park.  Be fore people jump onto that band wagon, it would be usefull to hear an articulate description of what NW-Trail has in mind to address the issue .  In the past, they have taken some stands that have been more in line with the interests of the Friends of Forest Park (ie. supporting the revised forest plan) than the mountain bike community.  I know this was in the interest of having a meaningful place in the discussion and trying to work colaboratively, but here we are years later with nothing substantive to show for it for the mountain bike community in Forest Park .  Before showing them your support and your dollars, ask what is their plan and does it make sense?

Thank you,

Spencer

Folks here is where you go to join. http://nw-trail.org/join

As many have stated we need as many mtn, road, recumbent, etc. bikers to sign up and help us great some "world class" trails in our platinum cycling city.

I grew up in Bend and shared the trails with horses hikers joggers and the like. It is possible to have multi use trails it happens all over the country and all it takes is a little citizenship on all of our parts.

Peace out and go ride your mountain bike this weekend and imagine if you did not have to sit in a car for a minimum of 1.5hrs to do it.
