The other day I looked at a bike that I found on CL and based on the
overall circumstances (I won't go into details here), I have a very strong
suspicion the bike may be stolen.

I have checked the local Stolen Bike registries and even a national
registry but I can't find it anywhere (it is somewhat unique) so maybe it
is legit.

I've already decided that I'm not buying the bike, because the thought
of buying a possibly stolen bike goes against my values, but I'm looking
for some advice on what to do?

Should I post something on BikePortland.org ? on CraigsList? or go to the
Police ? what if anything could be done ? ( if these folks are legit, I'd
hate to see them go thru police questioning over my suspicion).
