The organizers of the Coast Hills Classic MTB race in Newport did an
exceptional job. I was very impressed with their "Cross-esque" finish
venue with vendors, tents, festive atmosphere ... post-race Pizza for the
racers, and the race course was a blast ... a bit slick and muddy, but a
very fun course. Raffle prizes were exceptional, finishing prizes were
exceptional, $3000 prize money to the hot-stuff racers ... Great fun.

Those of you who chose not to go missed a very very Good Thing (tm). I had
an absolute blast, and the community of Newport were so very positive and
supportive of this race. Bike Newport did an excellent job, and thanks to
them for pulling this together and making it happen. If you're in Newport,
you've got to drop by their shop... they've got a great bike shop there.
