And we thought PDX was bad at times

I have it from a recent Colorado Springs transplant that Colorado is a

cyclist hating state.

They have a "single file" law. If two cyclists are seen riding side by

side regardless of road conditions, motorists feel free to harass them as

they see fit.

Bicycling Magazine has voted Portland "best city for cycling" at least

twice. I'd hate to see how cyclists are treated in not so friendly cities!

Prosecutors in Fort Collins have filed charges against one teenager

accused of attacking bicyclists and are reviewing whether to file

charges against two other teens.

Police said that beginning in December, two 16-year-old boys and a

17-year-old boy began following bicyclists while riding in a vehicle.

Officials said the boys would approach the bicyclists and hit them with

a baseball bat in a stunt that is known as "bicycle boxing."

Will Gabler, 28, told police he was bicycling on Jan 13 when he saw a

Jeep Wrangler in his mirror approaching from behind. "All of a sudden

something hit me."

Gabler said a male 17 to 18 years old was hanging out the window holding

an aluminum bat. Gabler was struck on the hand.

Seven other similar reports from bicyclists were received by Fort

Collins Police.

Authorities said a 17-year-old boy has been charged with

second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and underage

consumption of alcohol. He will appear in court on Feb. 21.

Evidence against the other youths is being reviewed, officials said.
