Mt. Hood Cycling Classic TT Update, Packet Pickup Info and Cheap Lodging Tips

Mt. Hood Cycling Classic

2012-05-23

Good Morning Northwest Racers,

A quick follow up to yesterday’s eblast. A number of you have asked about the time trial being a point to point event and yes we will have two shuttles with trailers running riders and their bikes from the finish back to the start.

There will be packet pickup on race day. At the start location for stage #1 you can pickup your race packet up to 1 hour prior to your race start. Packet pickup starts at 7:00 AM and closes at noon.

A number of you have stated your broke and are looking for cheap lodging or camping. The best bet for lodging is Cooper Spur Mountain Resort. If you have a team or large group rent their condo’s or cabins. They run around $200 a night are fully furnished, have kitchen, living room, access to hot tubs, and sleep up to 8 comfortably. You do the math if you can fill a condo that is only $25 a night per person!!! For the high rollers out there rent the log home. More info at http://www.cooperspur.com/accommodations.shtml It is super sweet.

For a camping option check out Toll Bridge Campground near Parkdale. It is only 8 miles from Cooper Spur Mountain Resort and is a beautiful campground. You will find tent sites to full RV hookups all located right along the Hood River. Campgrounds have heated bathrooms and showers and run between $10-25 per night for a site. Be sure and make reservations in advance. For more info and reservation link go to http://www.co.hood-river.or.us/index.asp?Type=B_BASIC&SEC={471AE695-C054-4F8C-BEB1-639B721C63E0}

Look forward to seeing all of you at the starting line!

Sincerely,
Chad and Crew
