Uh,oh. Read the update to this story here:

.
There is some evidence to indicate this is a scam. I hope it is not.

Wow! Thank's OBRA land. We've gotten several offers for wheels. We think we've found one that's pretty ideal. One fine gentleman even offered to paypal $100 to me to give to him. Can you imagine this type of support to/from strangers? You're a beautiful world.

On my way home from Sisters Stampede I came across an Australian cyclist who had been hit by a van which caused unrepairable damage to his rear wheel (amoungst other things which have mostly been sorted out). This was actually his second bad adventure of the day, as earlier he stopped at a rest area to use the rest room and someone stole one of his paniers with his cash, I.D. passport, etc. He's now hoping to get to Seattle to the nearest Aussie Consulate. I'm hoping I can help him find a heavy duty 700c touring wheel. Being that he's currently without the ability to access his bank I'm willing to be his benefactor, but I'm hoping to find a killer deal amounst our loving OBRA community. Bring it on guys. This fella started his bike journey here in Toronto and has pedaled his way all the way to Oregon, a mecca of U.S. cycling, only to find bad luck. I think we can change it around. I'm located closer to Salem but I'm willing to drive up to Portland or down to Eugene, or obviously anyw
here in between (everywhere is far from my house so it doesn't matter much).
