FEBRUARY 2003 - TEAM RUBICON ANNOUNCES IT'S NEW SPONSOR AND RIDER LINE UP
FOR THE 2003 RACING SEASON.
After a successful 2002 inaugural season, Team Rubicon is set for an even
better 2003 bicycle racing season.
The creation of Team Rubicon is the result of the dream of the team's
captain, Norrene Godfrey. Norrene is a competitive cyclist who lost her
mother to cancer a year and half ago. During the battle with cancer,
Norrene's mother was inspired by the courage of Lance Armstrong who took the
time to personally encourage her to persevere.
In order to repay Lance for his kindness and "pay it forward," Norrene
dreamed of a women's cycling team that would ride in support of the Lance
Armstrong Foundation and its fight against cancer. So far in 10 months,
Team Rubicon has raised $7,872.08 for the LAF with a goal of $20,000 by
August 15, 2003. If you Would like to make a donation in honor of Team
Rubicon please go to:

New for the 2003 season, Team Rubicon has added a full regional men's Squad
to help developing star junior rider Dean Tracy. The team has a full
national and local calendar with primary focus on one day road events and
the American Velodrome Track series along with the World Cup Track
Qualifiers.
