Jaime Kathleen Menagh
Greetings Ladies! Come join the Northwest Trail Alliance's Women's Group at Sandy Ridge on Sunday!
When: June 10th - meet at 10 am at the trail head (I encourage carpooling from town...)
Where: Sandy Ridge Trail Head
>From HWY 26, 11 miles East of Sandy, after passing Windell's Camp on your right, take the first left on Sleepy Hollow Drive. Take the next right onto East Barlow Trail Road. Follow this road across the Sandy river and keep right at the immediate intersection. The trail head is on your left a mile or so down the road.
Ride distance & duration: The total loop, including Hide and Seek, 338, Quid Pro Flow and Rock Drop trails is around 8.5 miles. We will climb 3 of the 8 miles on a paved road. I predict the first lap will be done at 12pm. We can do another lap or just repeat the lower portion of the trail depending on how people feel. I am always down to grab lunch afterwards with anyone who is hungry for hot food, cold bevies and some social time. I anticipate being home around 3 pm, but riders could easily call it a day at 12 if you have other things to do.
Here is the trail map:

Terrain description: Technical root and rock sections, many switchbacks, delightful turns, whoops and ride-able features with a few wide/easy bridges/water crossings. This trail is FUN.
Skills: We will split up into two groups. Jaime Menagh will lead the Intermediate/Advanced group and Dara Sim will lead the Beginner/Rusty group. Dara's group will decide their ride plan based on the skill level of the group that day. If most of the riders have ridden Sandy before then you will probably ride to the top of Hide n Seek, but there is a chance this group will just loop Lower Hide n Seek.. which is a really flowy, ton of fun trail with lots of berms and minimal technical requirements.
Intermediate group pace: 8-20+ MPH downhill and we WILL regroup periodically and at all intersections.
Here's my GPS data from my last ride there: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/173380919
Things to bring: Layers, you may cool off quickly on the way down especially since we are at a higher elevation, bring eye-protection, a helmet, gloves, a spare tube, tool(s), water, snacks, and dry clothes.
