Relax..... Humiliating or insulting would be saying someone is in a class over their heads. I said some folks are too good for the classes they are in, and should be moving up. I SHOULDN'T have pointed to anyone in particular, especially because there are a number of people in this boat, and I sincerely apologize. Somebody mentioned the Cat 3 19+ group, and I looked up the 1st place finisher as an example, but look at the top 3 finishers in any of the Cat 2 or Cat 3 classes & there are numerous people with 3 podiums.
OBRA rules specify 3 top-3 finishes in races with 15 competitors is a mandatory upgrade, and I see that isn't happening for everyone.
Here are some general questions:
Does short track fall outside of the regular OBRA upgrade rules?
Does having series standings provide a disincentive for upgrading?
Should people be allowed to race Cat 2 and Cat 3 in the same age group in the same night? I'm new to racing myself, so I just don't get the purpose of that.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Stop calling people out!!!!!!!
This is a great chat room for many reasons, but not to publically humiliate or insult a fellow OBRA member.
I’ve been racing for only 4-5 years but I have seen quite a few people getting called out publically when they don’t need to be.
Now, yes…sometimes people need to be called out for extreme situations or repeat offences.
If you have an issue with someone talk to them privately. If you don’t know how to find them do a posting with the subject line “Paging-Yer Mamma”. I mean were all grown up here and fairly mature (except the CX guys…ha ha) Even the juniors are a smart bunch of kids.
Then, if that person still acts like an ass, like running red lights in their team kit, or sandbaggin’ a race…then call them out publically.
Oh yea…here is my thought on the exception…..pissing at the Cherry Pie road race. We have been warned that someone down there is on pee patrol and we are at risk of loosing that venue. By all means call out anyone that looses a venue for us.
Sorry, I’ve had a bad week!
