and a cable cutter, not much bigger than a large pliers will cut through a cable with similar ease. U-Lock, and then park where "they think" you can see it, even if you can't. Better yet, only patronize establishments that let you bring the bikes in.

hope you get get your bike back!

Also:
I had a mountain bike of mine stolen a few years ago after someone cut the
cable lock. I had always thought cable locks looked so strong and tough, so
I took home the broken cable and sure enough it cut like butter with 3ft
bolt cutters.
I STRONGLY recommend only relying on a U-Lock or simply just storing them
inside a locked area.

Just my input.

Best of luck finding your stolen goodies.

Yikes. Best of luck.

On a side note- with Oregon becoming a hub for cycling recreation and
transportation- thieves are getting very canny about stealing bikes.
If you are traveling I would recommend that you bring your bikes
inside your hotel. Corey did the right thing in recording serial
numbers. If you haven't already- take down your serial numbers and
also put your ownership info into your seat tube.

This morning between 4:30 AM and 7:00 AM my mountain bike and 2 sets of carbon road wheels were stolen out of the back of my truck in the hotel parking lot. The truck was backed into the stall and the thief(s) cut a Kryptonite cable lock and disassembled a fork mount to get the bike and wheels out.
