My family and I invaded the trail and really enjoyed getting an up-close view of endurance mountain bike racing. Our camp was next to the third aid station and we caught quite a few riders along the eastern edge of Lava Lake as we were roaming around.
I took a few shots of some riders with my phone and I am admittedly unskilled at iPhone photography but if you came into the aid station between 1:30 and 1:45, I may have a shot or two of you. If you want them, I can email them to you in all their unretouched, partially-washed-out plate glory.
Rider 368? or 9? (number washed out) with red jersery
Rider 2?? (number washed out) Capo Forma
Rider 104
Rider 284
Rider 157 - I really hope you were able to finish
It was awesome for us to see the dust, sweat, and blood marking the effort of all the racers, especially the ladies as examples for my bike-crazy daughter (bet you didn't set out on the ride expecting to be a role model). All the racers we met on the trail and at the station were gracious, if weary. Great job ladies and gentlemen.
