Short Track Series & OBRA Champs: Some Updates

For those of you who didn't receive the email I just sent out, here are a couple updates, ahead of tonight's Short Track race # 7, next week's Series Grand Finale (and Ultra Short Track Team Relay), and an update about the OBRA Short Track Championships (taking place in Cascade Locks on Sunday Aug 12):

1) Results, Series Standing & Call-Up List:
- Results of last Monday's race: http://list.obra.org/events/20226/results
- Series standings after six races: https://www.athletepath.com/portland-short-track-series/2012/standings
- Tonight's call-up list: http://www.portlandracing.com/call-up-list-2012-07-23.html
Note that the best 7 races (out of 8) will count towards the final series standings, so a lot can still change in those last two races.

2) Get ready for the Series Grand Finale & "Ultra Short Track" Team Relay!
That's right, we're just a week away from our traditional Series Grand Finale and Ultra Short Track Team Relay! This year, we've decided to turn the relay race into a final fundraiser for Mat Barton's recovery fund, by asking an "entry fee donation" of $50 per team, with all proceeds directly going to Mat. The 25 available slots for the team relay race will be awarded on a first-come first-serve basis.

3) Our weekly raffle for Mat: today's prizes and last week's winners.
Like the previous two weeks, we will hold a weekly raffle for Mat Barton. And to keep things interesting, we're upping the stakes by throwing in five grand prizes: a Moots Ti Seatpost (retail value $315), a pair of Eggbeater 3 pedals - generously donated by our series sponsor Cyclepath -, and three real cool Icebreaker Merino cycling items (hoodies or tights). We'll also have a bunch of other great prizes from our other sponsors. Tickets will sell for $5 (5 tickets for $20). The lucky winners of last week's raffle - including the winner of the Full Speed Ahead SL-K Carbon Seatpost, Mountain Bars and Stem - are posted here:

Also a reminder that we still have plenty of Short Track T-shirts - including a limited-edition version in the flashy Staccato Gelato team colors - which will sell for $20 and all proceeds going to Mat. (No checks or credit cards, please!)

4) Mark your calendars: OBRA Short Track Championships in Cascade Locks - Sun Aug 12!
Online registration has opened for the upcoming OBRA Short Track Championships 2012, which will take place on Sunday August 12 at the all-new easyCLIMB trail system in Cascade Locks (right along the Columbia River). The course will feature a great mix of singletrack and double track, a bunch of banked turns and rollers, and a ton of fun.

That's all for this week's update... hope to see you later tonight at PIR. And if you raced before, make sure to bring your plate!
