valve extenders

Yet a third type also works with non removable core but has a gripper extension thingy you can use to open and close the valve with.

There are also two different thread pitches, as it turns out. I've run into
the same problem. Vittorias (I think) have a finer thread pitch than most
others and the extenders have to match.

As far as I am aware there's primarily two different kinds. Some go
directly over the Presta - which must be open - and are only good for
filling. These can be used with non-removable cores.
The ones Don describes are the kind I use, effectively they relocate the
Presta valve. Available in various lengths of course.
