TT Cup Committee...thank you!!

What you are describing is the TT Bar which we already have.

http://obra.org/bar/2012/time_trial/senior_men

I am suggesting that we have consistency between the two Cup completions. I think financial incentive helps bring out the best competitors and puts pressure on them to attend all the races in the series. This waywe have a true Champion and not just someone that just does all the events. The idea is to find the most consistent fastestman and womenin OBRA.

I think retaining the maximum number of categories (including tandems) inspires the maximum number of people to race bicycles. Financial compensation for one's hobby is not the point. I agree with Joe about the overall mix of event types, and I am grateful to those who took on the points tabulation for the OBRA TT Cup so that we could race and be judged with our peers. -Martha

I think the current format is just fine. Not all TTs are created equal.
Some favor
the cheetah among us while others favor the strong all-around rider.
The current
format list does a good job of challenging all riders and rewarding the
best of
all TT-riders.

We need to also keep in mind that the obra tt cup was in part created to handle the way a tt race is organized. The OBRA Tt cup guide book describes procedures for sorting and start times and other race features to keep the competition between close rivals fair and on the course at the same time. It's important for the promoters of official obra tt cup races to be familiar with these rules and understand how integral they are to the series competition.

Looking forward to next year,

For 2013, I would like to see a similar format to the OBRACup. The only difference would be that it would be based on Combined Time and not category for Men and Women. Tandems would be exclude and the distance of each category would need to be the same for the given event. If funds were an issue it could be top three only for the overall and free entry for the leaders.

What do you think?

As a TT racer, I feel like a lone wolf. We race by our selves, we usually warm up by our selves, and since we all leave at different times, its hard to even have a post race beer with others. Shoot, we dont even get upgrade points for when we do well.

This year a few people came together and put together a TT Cup Series. This was a handful of TT races that can give us our own little competition with in our lone wolf style of racing.

I just want to say thanks to the TT Cup committee for putting this together!! Maybe Im the only one that actually liked this little competition? If there are others that feel as I do, maybe throw out a posting.

I just hope that the TT cup sees our support and appreciation and will do another TT cup series next year, maybe even with more races around the region.

Thanks,
Stewart
