Hey y'all,
So last year I was at two cross races with my pressure washer. I was at Battle at Barlow to help wash the parking lot so the school will let us use there parking lot again this year. I was also at Krugers doing bike wash.
For bike washing there are two thoughts. One is for the race promoter to hire me for the day and then offer "free bike" wash. The other thought is for me to work independently offering $5 bike wash.
The problem with going through the promoter is with a free bike wash, even though I got a lot of positive feed back, I think that people feel that everyone should get a free bike wash. That would require me to have a staff of people and multiple machines...just to costly.
So I'm leaning toward $5 bike wash for any muddy cx races near PDX. I'm not really doing this for the money but more so for advertisement. So I'm thinking that a percentage of my take home will go towards either OBRA or NW trail alliance.
Yes, I am very experienced with my washer and know all about not blowing out any bearings. I also build bikes, so I know bikes. Basically what I can do in 5 minutes would take you an hour, and I promise to treat your bike like it was mine.
So let me know your thoughts...would there be any interest, is $5 a fair price, should I offer hot coco and cookies?
I do have one pic from Krugers last year... http://bridgecitypw.com/portfolio/ it's under Misc.
Thanks,
