Years ago, there was a magazine called "Road Bike Action" and it was interesting in many ways. They reviewed a new crankset from a "boutique" equipment manufacturer and said in print that they installed the crankset and road about 800 yards and pulled them off the bike. They then stated that the crank arms were so flexy that they were unsafe.

The magazine didn't last very long. There is a moral there somewhere.
