Everyone,
There is already a NATIONAL bike register. It is called the "National Bike
Registry". The website is www.nationalbikeregistry.com. It costs 10 bucks
for 10 years, 25 bucks for 30 years, or 25 bucks for 5 bikes at a single
resisdence, for 10 years. Your local police department should check
recovered bike serial numbers versus the registry database. If they do not,
they should be informed about the database. With this "tool", Rep. Z's
proposal is redundant and unnecessary.
