Sorry to hear about your crash. Collarbone breaks are THE WORST that I
have had to recover from (two of them on each collarbone. :( )
As always, YMMV but my experience is to stay off the road for at least
6 weeks (Dr orders). This allows the bone hematoma to form and the bone
ends to stabilize. If you feel a strong desire to ride, a stationary
trainer (Cyclops, Computrainer, etc) is your best bet. You can ride and
not worry about falling an causing further injury. Just make sure you
have a good cable package or plenty of cycling Vids/DVDs to assist in
keeping your sanity. :P
This advice is assuming you do not require a surgical procedure to
secure
the clavicle ends. Your off-bike time may be a little longer (only your
Dr
can say).
