The Alpenrose Velodrome has 40 some bikes that we rent for use during
training and races sessions for a minimal fee. Like all bikes, these bikes
need maintenance. Generally we try to go through them at the beginning of
the season and then address problems as they are identified during the year.
I recently had the thought that we could go through the bikes now when it is
relatively dry and warm rather than putting it off until the spring when it
will be wet and cold. The bikes will then be put away and not used until
next spring.
I could use some help doing this. Basically we need to just go through all
the bikes and wheels, fix flats, tighten bolts, true wheels, etc. There is
probably not much that needs to be done on each bike but multiply by 40+ and
it will take a bit of time.
I plan to go to the track tomorrow, Saturday, to do this. I will get there
about 10:00. If a few people could help me that would be great. If you
have wheel truing skills and could bring a stand that would be great. I
will bring mine. Cone wrenches and a 4, 5, 6 mm Allen wrench would also be
useful.
Hope to see you there.
