number pinning idea

I got fabric numbers in the mail with my OBRA membership, but since I don't road race they don't really serve a purpose. They do look really sweet though!Candi Murray wrote:They cost $4 per. We order almost 4000 ccx numbers. Do the math ;-)

I don't know why I never thought of this before. A really easy way to get your number pinned on correctly (especially when working alone) is to put your jersey on backwards, then pin your number on your FRONT, where you can see it and place it properly. Then just pull it off over your head, and PRESTO, perfect number!! (this may not work for some riders depending on how much or little your front resembles your back). Great idea, rite??

"Back-in-the-day" we did use our cloth "road" numbers for 'cross. I sewed
mine on for the season.

Surely there's more than 2000 total roadies - or do you just like us better?

I leave 'em on and wash them with the skinsuit. With any luck, I only have
to change them when it gets cold enough for the winter skinsuit. I've been
doing it for several years and have never worn a number out.

It would be really sweet if we had cloth numbers like the roadies. Then we could pin them on one time at the beginning of the cross season and just wash them with our jerseys. Another idea is once you've got it pinned on perfectly, you can make small
marks on your jersey or skin suit with a sharpie pen at the four corner
holes of each number. Then it's way easier to replicate.
