If you are not racing on Saturday (do not fit into one of the new cats), and this either looks like an event you could “dominate”, maybe go ride some trail with the kids.
“I am taking the kids mountain biking Honey. Do you want to come along for a family event?” Great Ice Cream afterward!

Driving directions from Portland:
I-84 East, take Cascade Locks Exit 44
Go through town (~.5 miles), left on NW Forest Lane (~1.5-2 miles)
Turn Left on Cramblett Way (next to Bear Mountain Wood Pellets plant)
Follow paved road and continue straight on gravel road to the end...hopefully you'll see the bonfire
