I can understand the desire to split things out. But, if you just set up a
few filters, and use an email browser that threads conversations together,
it's dead simple to eject cruft you don't want to see. I simply put
everything OBRA into a "Lists->OBRA" folder. Then anything with "FS", "for
sale", "WTB", and "wanted" (case insensitive) goes to "Lists->OBRA->Gear"
sub folder. That with the threading - it takes all of 5 minutes to sort
out 4 or 5 days (i.e. when I go away on vacation or for work) of email -
which often amounts to 300 to 400 messages.
Generally most OBRA-ites are pretty good about tagging the subject with an
"FS" or "WTB" (also fairly good with "OT" as well) - this cuts down things
quickly.
If you get sick of the "lance" threads, that's where the threaded
conversations make it easy to select and delete 10 or 12 posts in one go
...
