CCX Mud tires - is it time?

It's time. I put new shoes on my bike before Rainier and the ground was
beautifully damp and un-dusty, although not very muddy. I'm running Clement
PDX clinchers as well, which are awesome with...uh...(wait for it)...

...latex tubes.

Are the freshly soaked CX courses soft yet?
All the races I've done have been dusty affairs...I'm considering switching out my tires.
