Portland area mtb riders........... Below is a release from NWTA regarding the Scappoose trails.
North side Scappy is now open after road construction. South still closed...another area of logging and road building taking place.
Please note that trails close to the gate have been CUT by the new roads. NWTA is working with the landowner to get permission to re-connect the trails across the roads. Some of the sections of trail cut is significant. PLEASE DO NOT CONSTRUCT NEW TRAIL!!!!!
If we work with landowner as we have the last few years, it will help solidify our positive relationship with them. They appreciate how we have helped them take care of the trails and their land in general. They are viewing us a good partners they can trust. The hope is to have the trails re-connected in the next couple of weeks. We need their approval of plans first. Trails further in seem intact, although there could be blow-down and or debris. Remember if you see anything that you cannot just toss out of the way, let me (rondot@spiritone.com) or ( andrew@flowingsolutions.com ) ( you can also use the AndyC@nw-trail.org from below) and we will make sure we handle it as per landowners guidelines.
Look forward to having some close in winter trail riding again.
Thanks much and remember to observe landowners rules with regard to parking, no night riding etc. Be nice to the folks who drive up and down that road as well.
