Garmin Edge 200 or 500?

To toss more fuel to this fire, if an onscreen map isnt that important,
consider the Garmin Forerunner 305. ANT+ compatible and is multisport
if that interests your. Fairly inexpensive (~$150.00 for mine
brand-new).

That's the other point. I find lots of places, including Forest Park where the mileages and altitudes aren't too accurate on GPS alone. So the wheel sensor helps. And HR is key for me.
ANT+ is very handy. The 500 was worth a little more for me. Or 305 I guess but I didn't see one.

If you're buying used then the 305 does have ant+ for hrm, cadence, wheel
magnet sensor (very useful for tunnels).

Hey all,

I'm interesting in getting an Edge and basically all I've ever seen out there are 500's. Anyone have a 200? Anyone switch from a 200 to a 500?

It seems like, besides the display, that the only real difference is the barometric altimeter in the 500 (which is more accurate, obviously, for registering alt than GPS only). What do you think?

There's also the huge price difference which makes me wonder just what you get for the extra $100.

Thanks for any info!
