feedback/thoughts on PF30 ??

They use the same bearing with generally crappy seals but have a different
frame interface and different BB shell bore sizes. If you want more
information than that, I'll be happy to nerd out on this subject.

wondering in PF 30 and "BB 30" are the same thing? if not, what is the
difference? I have BB30 on my cross bike, BB bearings are fairly open to
the elements and need a lot of maintenance, thanks for your help,,,,,,

PF30 and BB30 bottom brackets are different. However, both use the same
style crank (generally referred to as a BB30 crank).

Clearly a PF30 centric page, but good info:

Nice! Thanks for the heads-up on that Aaron.

Shane,

A guy I worked with at Signature Cycles in NYC makes some really solid PF30
-> 24mm adapters. He designed them to be deeper than Parlee's adapters of a
similar design so they shouldn't move. Your BB shell does need to be faced
properly for any BB to work, particularly the metal cups like these. Grant
Salter is who you'd talk to if you have questions: grant@signaturecycles.com

Hope that helps.

OBRA-land,

I've been running an FSA PF30 bottom bracket on my mountain bike for less
than a year now. It's already toast. Something I heard about PF30 BBs
from folks - they don't last. Normally, I run Chris King ... but no dice
with a BB30 or PF30 option from CK. :(

My FSA PF30 - like I said - is toast already. It doesn't seem like there
are too many PF30 options for BBs out there.

My question ... in your expert opinions ... is it worth sticking with a
PF30 BB and BB30 crank set to get the extra stiffnes/power transfer? Or
should I go ahead and bite the bullet and get an adapter to drop down to a
24mm standard crank set? If so - does anyone have a bead on a quality PF30
BB that will last, and not need to be replaced once or twice a season?

Thoughts? Opinions? TIA!
