I heard they were taking it to shop to have it retrofitted in the
style of a Citron sag wagon.

Perhaps an OBRA fundraiser to resto-mod the RV. Swap out the engine and
drive train with all modern mechanicals. Replace the interior with high
end custom stuff. You know, Xzibit style. several flat screen TV's, game
consoles, sub woofers. But leave the exterior exactly as it is. I'll buy
the jersey. Size XL.

Right!
Designated Tow Truck! During pre race warm up and post race recovery. JVA might get Speed’s Towing as additional sponsor.
Sweet idea Craig.

My theory is that it's just more reliable and economical to hire a towtruck to haul it around like than it is to keep it roadworthy. Plus, this way JVA can drink inside on the way to the races.

My guess is the team that purchased it (cannot remember which one) is having it towed and placed in the pit at Hillsboro. Or if they are thinking of a more lasting gesture....having it planted nose first on the infield of the Alpenrose Velodrome. Now that would create a lasting monument.
I doubt it will ever really go away.
