I agree. Kris and his crew laid out a good course. They kept some of the
tough areas in and changed a few so we still had some sweet mud, but not so
much that it seemed like 80% of the course was total slog through tough,
though mud. It just seemed like an efficient course. It was fun, but I did
need to lower my gear the last lap. I noticed as the rain kept falling the
course actually looked faster and maybe easier to ride. Sticky areas
appeared to turn more soupy and did not plug bikes up as much with thick
mud.
I know too many mechanicals occurred when we went through the corn maze /
field, but it still would be fun to just nick through a corner of it for a
short running or chancy riding section. Just the sicko in me! But the
6-pack was nice in plain sight of the bonfire and free samples of Hopworks
finest!
The highlight of my day came when Ross Brody and Luke Demoe crossed the
finish line together hands clasped together. Good sportspersonship!
This was after they made the race look like a two person team time trial.
Lots of good racing out there today and even though raining a good amount,
pretty darn pleasant atmosphere as usual.
I have never missed a Kruger' Crossing and have intention of missing the
2013 edition.
Thanks Kris for all your work on this.......and of course Sponsors, Don
Kruger / his folks, volunteers and OBRA officials.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Kruger's Crossing!
It's true I've never met a cyclocross course I didn't like, but today was my
fourth time racing at Kruger's and while the course is always fun, the
conditions and layout today were far and away the best of the four. There's
was a lot of mud (as always) but everything was rideable (even for me) and
my wheel only sunk in the ground up to the hub once!
Great food at the farm market too.
Thanks to the organizers, volunteers, officials, etc., etc.
