Fw: ADV: Dimwits Withbritelites Anniversary Night Ride - Saturday, Dec 1st 5pm

For those of you NOT racing the OBRA Championships in Eugene or attending the Cross Crusade Awards Saturday night, this might be an option for your Saturday. To be honest, Fall, Winter and Spring are my favorite times out at these trails. I am sure help would be appreciated and if you are more of the night-time vampire type....the trails and bonfire are most enjoyable.
I plan on making an appearance after Cross season is finished, to stoke the fire and maybe warm the spirits. This is a true Blind Date of sorts!

Dimwits Withbritelites Anniversary Night Ride

Saturday December 1st, 5pm

_______________________________________

Hello fellow Dimwit night rider,

It's been almost a year since we had our first night ride on the easyCLIMB trails in Cascade Locks and it's time for the Anniversary ride this Saturday, Dec 1st at 5pm. We'll have a bonfire ready when you arrive. I'm going to debut my new stainless steel hot dog cooker along with a bunch of dogs and condiments to share. Bring a chair, a beverage, and a great attitude, and maybe some rain clothes :) If the weather is predicted to be excessively bad, I will send out a notice by Saturday morning.

Pre-ride Work party:

Yes we are going to have an informal work party before the ride. There is another 1/2 mile of trail that have been cut with our trail building machine that need some raking and spreading gravel. We are going to have a small work party for those who can help out before the ride (2pm). I'll be there by 2pm, and bring a rake, shovel, and wheel barrel (if possible) and we'll put you to work. Let me know if you are coming so we can expect you.

Where: easyCLIMB Trail in Cascade Locks. For more information check out the NWTA Trail Wiki at easyCLIMB

When: 5:00pm until you get tired.

Plan: Ride the trail at your own pace, stop by the fire to warm up and take more laps until you're done, then hang by the fire, cook your hotdog and socialize. It's a loop and hard to get lost.

Fire: Yes Big Bonfire is back!

Food: I plan to bring a bunch of hot dogs, buns, and condiments. Please feel free to bring your favorite thing to cook over the fire and a beverage. I have a new improved stainless steel hot dog/brat cooker that can cook 10 dogs at the same time. Should be fun to try.

What to bring: A bright light and chair

Directions From Portland:

I-84 East, take Cascade Locks Exit 44

Go through town (~.5 miles), left on NW Forest Lane (~1.5-2 miles)

Turn Left on Cramblett Way (next to Bear Mountain Wood Pellets plant)

Follow paved road and continue straight on gravel road to the end...hopefully you'll see the bonfire.

RSVP: Please send me an email if you plan on attending.

Questions - mailto:andyj@nw-trail.org

Look forward to seeing you.

cheers,

Andy Crump
