Actually, they are available in sealed packages of 10-16, much easier to
cart around; I've sent a bunch to me son.

You can even buy the "refill" and not the little plastic case, and put a few in a ziplock bag to have with you. this is muhc cheaper too . . .I've been told.

I can't believe that I'm going to say something to this huge audience on
this topic, but I wouldn't do if I didn't hope it would benefit someone
(well, and maybe make someone laugh too).
Cleanliness directly after riding is crucial to prevent the bacteria growth
that causes saddle sores. It's easy when you have a shower waiting for you.
How do you do it at a race? Baby Wipes. You're not too macho for baby
wipes are you? That's what the heck they are made for. People may be stuck
in a paradigm from when the were a year old that baby wipes should be
administered by someone else. I am not recommending this at a race. Please
learn to self administer under a sport kilt or something. And after years
using them, only once have I heard a small child in the distance say,
"Daddy, look at that man. What is he doing?" I guess she was also stuck in
the same paradigm.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] saddle sore recap
I had some bad saddle sores awhile ago and had them pretty regularly last
year. after all of the advice I got from everyone I felt I should recap
what
has worked.
relief:
2 pairs of shorts
chamois cream
hot showers and copious amounts of soap to clean
make sure I am dry
wear boxers
after about 2 weeks the sore was gone.
maintaining pain free arse/groin:
get out of shorts right when I am done riding
take a shower right away
use a "cream"
I used various different creams.
I found that the paceline chamois butt'er was absolutely worthless to me.
it
seemed to dissipate immediately. on the other hand a team mate recommended
Bag Balm, the stuff in the green tin, that stuff is magic. it works great,
stays, doesn't irritate and washes off fairly easy. I am sitting pretty!!>
it is so much nicer to ride without a nagging pain.
