OBRA annual meeting

Russell @ Upper Echelon

2012-01-27

The annual meeting is very much for everyone. Each team gets to cast their
votes for new members, but everyone is welcome to participate in the
discussions. It's an open dialogue. All are welcome to join and
participate, regardless of whether they are the one representing the team
for voting.

I'm wondering if I should attend the annual meeting if I can't vote?I'm interested in understanding all the inner workings of this awesome organization. The new rules will be explained at the judges/ref's training so I'll be caught up to speed on changes. I'll also be attending the BAR awards tomorrow. That annual meeting has me a bit intrigued but I've been on a few boards and not all board meetings are really very enlightening or interactive for non board members or presenters....hmmmm....any thoughs anyone?

Each year OBRA holds an annual meeting for all members to discuss issues of

interest to OBRA members and bicycle racers in general. This meeting sets

the course for OBRA operations for the coming year. If you are interested

in bicycle racing in Oregon you should attend this meeting.

The meeting is held just prior to the annual banquet. This year that will

be 1/15 at the MAC. Voting is done by club representatives so make sure

your club is represented.

Agenda items will include:

-Rules for the 2000 BAR competition

If you have ideas for how the BAR should be modified then present them here

so that they can be voted on. Preferably changes should be concise and in a

written format.

-Election of Board of Directors

Each year 2 board positions come up for election. This year the positions

held by me John Forbes and by me, Mike Murray come up for re-election.

Potential board members should declare candidacy by sending their name to

ob-@teleport.com.

-OBRA participation with USAC

A hot item last year. Are there to be any changes for 2000?

Other agenda item ideas should be sent to ob-@teleport.com. See you at the

meeting.
