Santa Cross . . .

By 60+ I meant age, not numbers.  You're right, over 200 and I suspect that number will increase exponentially each year for this well run race.

Glad you had a good time.  Actual count was close to 200.  With some riders doubling up (or tripling, or quadrupling) categories, total of field sizes was around 225.

Thanks to the volunteers, sponsors and promoters for putting on a great race in Corvallis.  A beautiful, intimate and challenging course to be sure, but every time you race a course like that, you end up a better bike handler.   We had a full contingent of 60+ riders today, maybe because we all knew there was an e-room just a mudball's throw away.

Well said Ed. You were rocking the boat today! I figured I would suffer a great deal as per the hillside location. Instead I ended up spinning my time away on this very slippery course and having a mucho fun time. I had a couple of intimate encounters with trees, but both were just one tree stands and did not lead to long term relationships. It was a real hoot!
Ripley. You done good! If you do this again next year and do go as far as to use the upper section of the hill, I might be speaking more about “hurt” than hoot. Part of me is sad to see the cross season be ending for many of us, but also know it allows me to spend more time thinking about other people and things that are equally important....or maybe even more? Thanks to all the families who allowed their cyclocross addicted family members to get their doctor prescribed fix each week of the fall fun season.
As the dryness seemed to linger far into the season, we actually ended up getting some very fun slippery courses to ride. In the end, this old guy can say he had fun! 63 goin’ on 14!
