Santa Cross HUGE thank you

And, congratulations to you and the whole Hart family for doing 22 races
Sunday! I understand that puts your family's total races for the year at a
whopping 500. Surely that deserves some sort of OBRA Achievement Award, or
at least a discounted family rate for your races! Awesome...

First, I want to say thanks to Mike and Andi Ripley for putting on an awesome event this Sunday. The course was fun, and a unique challenge to finish off the season. I really enjoyed racing it, even after it became a mud pit, with almost as much running as riding. Thanks especially for making seperate age-graded junior cats, so the younger juniors can compete fairly, and for making a SS women cat. Though there were only four of us racing in that group Sunday, I know there are a lot more women out there who have at one time or another tried Single Speed. If this cat returns, the women will come out and race it.
I also want to say thanks to all the people who loaned us single speeds this weekend, making it possible for me and four of my family members, to all race single speed together. Thank you, Rob Chapman, of Metropolis, for loaning us your spare bike, and I really enjoyed racing against you most of the race. Thanks to Sam Rosenberg for loaning us your single speed, and to Mike Rosenberg helping us get a lower gear on there as the course turned into a mud slog, and we realized we'd need a pretty easy gear. Thank you John Osborne for the loan of your bike as well. It was a great bike to race on, and between that and your enthusiastic cheering at the run-up, I made four laps around one of the toughest courses all year. Thanks to those who offered us bikes, which we didn't end up using. Thank you Flo Lebowitz for being the first to offer your bike to us last week. We eventually found a bike which fit better, but it was very kind of you to offer, and we so much appreciated it. Thank you, Dan
Evens for offering your bike as well. Though we'd already found enough bikes by then, we appreciated your offer, and it was very sweet of you to trust us to race your Major Jake, even though you were a little nervous about loaning it out.
Thanks to the mechanical support guys from Bike N Hike. Throughout the day we had several little mechanical issues, and you were always eager to offer assistence in fixing whatever problem we had. You made our day run much more smoothely than if we'd had to do all those little jobs ourselves. And, last but not least, thank you to the officials who worked so hard to score us all day long. You were the ones who had to stand still in the cold, while we were at least moving aroung the whole time keeping somewhat warm. You guys worked so hard to get our results straigt, even when just our family showed up with 7 racers almost all doing multiple races. Santa Cross was a great day of racing, and thank you to everybody who made it so.
