There is only one problem with this idea ... no wheel sucking.

postings....

from james gritters to anyone who will listen

I read some of the mail I see, and erase most. I can tell you a sure

fix for most of the problems I see (from a short tempered racer mind you).

RACE MOUNTAIN BIKES! Now I know that 3/4ths of the OBRA crowd has just

erased this message, but let me continue...

Mountainbike races are short (less than 3 hours), thus are less damaging to

the soft areas.

mounain bike races require shorter training days, thus less damage.(thus no

saddle sores)

mountain bike races have no centerline. No problem.

mountain bike races are (for the most part) held on mountains and have

sufficient trees for all weak-bladdered individuals if you care to stop.

The deer don't mind.

mountain bike races tend to have strung out finishes. no photo finish

equipment or multiple referals to the video machine required.

Although there is sometimes some griping to do (and I fully admit that I

have been one of the more vocal in my time), most complaints are resolved

either by reviewing the finish tags (thank you Mike for upholding the one

fault free method of finish recognition), or by refunding the race fee when

the course had minor deviations (always stay with Paul at the Bear springs

trap race unless you REALLY know the course).

GIVE UP your skinny wheeled speed demons and come to the fresh new world of

mountain biking! Dirt hurts less to hit at 20 mph

James
