So I'm good with computers and I know a lot about Sruvey GPS mapping, but I know very little about Garmin and .gpx files.

This is where I'm at.  I have the Garmin 500, I use the Garmin training center, and I've played with Garmin connect and map my ride, I'm also familiar with google earth. 

I do know that with the 500, I can DL my rides into training center and from there I can open the route with google earth...that is about all I know.

What I want to know is if I have a .gpx file, what program is the best one to open it.  Also how can I DL the route into my 500.

Also how do I create routes, I guess in the .gpx format and then DL those into my 500.

Please post privately back to me, unless you might have real good info that others might benefit from.  And if I get and instructions to any of this that involves using my pressure washer...I will come over and wash a smilie face on your driveway :) JK.
