Considering the power struggle going on here, might we just push the needle further by inviting Lance to come and crush our races? He must still be tight with some people at Nike, however behind-the-scenes it is, regardless of his official position with them. It's not like he wouldn't have a support network here. OBRA could parade him around as a reconciliation campaign with juniors, etc.

eh?
Uncooked pipe-dream, but funny to think about.

Maybe someone who saw Steve Johnson take a bribe from the infamous Lance
Armstrong...

With all the lawyers involved with OBRA, you would think that someone would find a way to get the USAC into court. Restraint of trade, crossing the center line, there must be something.

It is business. We have 5000 members, most of who do not purchase USAC $80 memberships. If they can take over Oregon it would be $400,000 in memberships fees alone.

Not to spawn another thread, but WTF is that about?! OBRA seems to be a real boon to cycling in the PNW area, and every OBRA event I've attended or raced has been a pleasure.

Forgive my total ignorance, but what beef could USAC possibly have with OBRA? Apologies if I missed this in the conversation already, but if this is just political buffoonery that's fuct.

Geez, Ben. Ask the Colorado version of OBRA your question. Oh, I guess you can't. USAC crushed them. They'd rather collect their big old license and entry fees than see our 60-80-100 local races per year full of people having fun and getting fit.

real boon to cycling in the PNW area, and every OBRA event I've attended or

Forgive my total ignorance, but what beef could USAC possibly have with

USAC wants us out of business. They have refused any duel sanctioning. So
all of the events that have done this MtHood, Cascade, USGP will not do it
in 2013.

Is it true there won't be an OBRA sanctioned portion for the Cascade Cycling
Classic this year and a USAC license will be required?

Thanks!
