I have an '08 Reba fork that has an issue with the motion control. It leaks oil when upside down and makes an air leak like sound when compressed hard in the lockout mode. I tore it apart and replaced the o rings with ones of similar size and the oil leak slowed but will still leak after hanging for 3-4 days and the compression sound is still there. Research shows that I might have missed 1 o ring under the gate valve. Which leads me to 2 questions:
1) Where would I find the correct internal o rings?
2) I can't seem to find a replacement motion control damper for this year of fork. Can I use a newer one if I must replace it? When I recently serviced a '10 Reba, I placed the motion control damper in the '08 and it seemed to fit fine even though it was a different length. But I did not put it to full test. I am assuming it would work fine as long as I adjusted the oil level to accomodate for the difference in length....but not sure. Anybody know the answer?
Thanks,
Shane
