Yeah and they're super fun! I did first two events. Sitting this one out with broken collarbone, but tempted! :-)
And awesome that it's all for charity!

I'll take up a little OBRA space on the interwebs to publicly give Daniel some kudos for doing this super-cool little series. Fun, way relaxed, friendly, and raising money for good causes. Not to mention PRO, with sponsors and swag to give away.
Good on ya'!

I realized I may or may not have posted anything here about the latest Alley Cross. Better late than never. If you haven't already seen it on facebook, twatter, or instagram, or in your local bike shop, here are the details on Alley Cross 3: It's Saturday March 23rd. Tomorrow. 4pm. Starting at Woodlawn Park. It's a charity race. I want to provide a fun, unsanctioned race without involving money. I have 11 sponsors who have donated prizes for the racers. The racers in turn donate "items" to race.
The first race was in December and we collected non-perishable food for the Oregon Food Bank, the second race was a winter clothing drive for The Salvation Army. This third and final race for this series is supporting Janus Youth Homeless Shelters. Janus Youth is in need of socks, bandages, duct tape, first aid kits, etc. for the youth that frequent their shelters. To keep it simple this time, we are focusing on socks and bandages. These count as your racing fee.
We've got a fast but technical cx course set up along with seven checkpoints throughout the city. The majority of the mileage will be on streets, though there will be a few muddy alleyways and a few parks to ride through. You can probably manage just fine on road racing tires, but we recommend tires 25c to 28c.
If you can't race, feel free to stop by and heckle as that's always encouraged. Or, if you have new, or lightly used socks that you can donate, anything would be very much appreciated. Please feel free to hit me up on Facebook, or my shop's website if you have any comments or questions.
Thanks,
Daniel
