There is some fun stuff out at Post Canyon. A lot of it is either very up or very down fast single track with berms from motorcycles and you can check out some of the crazy free ride obstacles. I can't give you exact routes as I have only ridden there a few times, but Hood River has a couple of shops downtown. I am sure someone would point you in the right direction. Yes, it is dual use and you will see motorcycles, but they are expecting you and in my experience they are courteous and the cool trails would not be there without their shaping.

If you would like to explore it, take the first Hoodriver exit, then take an immediate right. Go up the hill and you will see a road sign for Post Canyon. Drive until you hit dirt, probably 1 mile, and park. You will see single track leaving the road within the first 100 feet of riding. After that you can explore. There is a gated road going up off the main dirt road to the right that you can't miss, if you go up that road you can get to the power lines and ride to Mitchell Point. From there, if you stay left you will eventually work back to the main dirt road. Ride along that road and keep an eye out for single track. Find some of it and have fun.

Good luck, I hope this helps. Make sure you have brakes!

Hi,

I'm going to Hood River for a few days next week and have never done any cycling over there. Can anyone help me with info on safe routes to ride? Moderate length, 20-50 miles.
