Rule 1: Have fun with OUCH.

Police escort at Bald Peak you say? I better read on to see more about this :)

Day of registration is welcomed and appreciated, but getting a start time sure does help plan a race :))

Next the big notes:

The start times have shifted to 1:00 minute intervals. The clock still starts at 9:30:00 with the first rider rolling at 00:01:00.

This is a projected starting times and order and only an estimate. If you would like to race and want a start time, send us a note ASAP so we can get another updated list. The lastest posting as of tomorrow evening will be on the OUCH website, but the final starting list will be posted at registration.

You race in one of the following divisions: Cat, Masters, Caliber. You are not entered in more than one division. Caliber classes are simply another option for those who are not of the 'climbing elite.' Bike and rider will be weighed in on the 'Official OUCH Balance of Power' should you decide to select the Caliber division. Late changes from cat to Caliber will not change your start order if you have already registered. You can weigh you + bike anyway should you decide to figure your t2 = f(x)a/crank_size*watts*f(y)

We are staging at the Laurelwood Academy in a small rural area near Gaston Oregon, 10 minutes from Hagg Lake. As this is a first year event, please remember that the local community, school officials and attendees (read young adults) will be interested in seeing what a bicycle race and racers are all about. Please conduct yourselves in a proper manner, involve the community and have a good time.

Then the fun - because that's what OUCH is all about...

* Are you ready to test yourself for the upcoming stage races and if so how will you fair in the climbs?

* Did you know that in order to obtain our race permits, OUCH needs state certified flaggers? As such BPTT will have the Washington County Deputy Sheriff's on-site at our 3 major intersections providing traffic control. Plus, when the last racer passes through the turn around, a high powered patrol cruiser will be providing follow car support for the final riders all the to the top of Laurelwood hill?

* Do you know who our honorary 'final racer to start on the course' award is currently scheduled to be and that he would like nothing better than to catch the riders in front so he is no longer the 'honorary escortee? '

* Do you know which local Academy is going to be having a snack and drink fundraiser on site to try to raise money for a local project?

* Are you aware, we will have plastic bags for clothing, drinks and snacks that we will take to the finish (likely in two trips)?

Did you know that because the course is out and back prior to the hill you will see your friends and family not only start, but race past you before they head up 'the climb?'

* Did you know this event is all about having FUN!!!!

Finally the start listing...
