It's a different discipline subject to different pricing structures
and different type of racing.

I think the important thing to mention is that only a couple of events are that short. This may not be very obvious to beginners or people unfamiliar with the format of various track races.

The 200m time trial and the Kilo/500m night are very short events. The second week of time trials is 3k time trial, which is longer, but still shorter than the normal weeknight races since it is an individual timed event.

After these first couple weeks of timed events, the normal weekday racing starts. Thursday "omnium" nights are 3 or more different races, ranging in length, per group. And Friday also has a 3-race omnium for the novice groups. That's the most common format for weekly races, rather than the short timed events.

Unfortunately cost of race production is not directly tied to race length. Track time trial events are more expensive to produce because more officials and staff are needed. So ... Yes you do pay more per minute of racing.
