Subject: ADV: Family/Kid/Beginner Ride at EasyCLIMB (night ride also) - Saturday, May 11th 5pm
Camas Lilly's are in bloom!
Looking for a place to take your kid, significant other, or friend you want to get addicted to the sport you love? This is the perfect place, and perfect event. Camas Bikes and Dimwits Withbritelights (NWTA) are putting on a party next Saturday, May 11th. It is also a chance for you OBRA folks to preview the course for the Gorge Short Track Series 5 days later.
If you just joined us, easyCLIMB is in Cascade Locks and is a 3 mile loop that is a sampler of Northwest trails, from flowing and fast to tight and turny. A fun series of large berms were just finished and will be a hit with the kids in all of us. The parking area is central and you can do a small loop, large loop or multiple loops or just ride the skills area and build confidence. Plenty of choice trails for the Strider group also.
We will have a large bonfire fire to keep warm between laps, or just to hang out by. (Thank you to Bear Mountain for always keeping family's warm).
Some light snacks will be provided, but your kids will really want to cook a hot dogs on the fire after they ride, so bring your favorite stick grillable product, and a comfy chair to sit in, and maybe some warm pants, oh and maybe a pair of warm sorrels.
This is not a race, tour or anything hi-pressure, and the place is small enough to explore easily. There will also be plenty of sharply dressed Camas Bike devotes that might be willing to give you a tip or two about bike handling if you use their secret password which is "hi".
