Here is a very heavy hearted update on little Alex from Aushna, his Mother, yesterday.
Pathology results are back, Alex has an 'anaplastic astrocytoma' (grade 3 brain cancer).
Given the severity, he will go back in for surgery tomorrow through the same site. They need to be more aggressive in dissecting the tumor. Then Monday, they will go through the back of his head for the third surgery. Then he will have 7 wks of radiation, 5x week & chemotherapy...depending on how much tumor is removed, given the nature, we pray for total removal. Prognosis at 5yrs is 25-40% survival rate.
Please keep him in your thoughts the next several days as it's going to be a rough ride.
