Mt. Hood Cycling Classic

2013-05-29

Dear Women of OBRA,

We are excited to announce two women’s only rides this year in Oregon and both are owned and operated by Breakaway Promotions.

This weekend come join us for the Gorge-Us Gals Tour on Sunday June 2nd. The event has a 20, 40, and 60 mile ride through the scenic Gorge. Ride starts in The Dalles and heads out to Pine Grove School in Hood River (site of many a Mt. Hood Cycling Classic Prologues). It is an open start with riders departing between 7-9 AM. Lunch is served afterwards and we will have fully stocked rest stops with great food and goodies. Weather is forecasted to be amazing on Sunday with highs in the low 70’s and sunshine. The event is a fundraiser for the local domestic violence shelter Haven. So come out and help break the cycle of violence! For more info check us out at www.gorge-usgalsride.com

Then on August 4th we are excited to announce the addition of the Wine Women and Wheels Tour. This 25 and 45 mile ride starts out of Hawks View Cellars in Sherwood and tours Washington County’s wine country. Amazingly beautiful ride on quite country roads. The course will stop at no less than 4 wineries along the way were great food and support will be available. Afterwards Hawk’s View Cellars is brining out the white linens for an amazing post ride lunch and wine tasting. We are limited to 400 riders for this event so register early if you are interested. The event is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. What better way to a healthy heart than through wine and cycling! For more information check us out at www.winewomenwheelstour.com

Both rides are aimed at a wide audience from competitive racers to novice women who are interested in getting into the sport.

Sincerely,
Chad Sperry
