Oregon Rehearsal RR

2006-06-05

This is the week for the OBRA Championship race part 1.

The race is on Saturday June 10th.

Directions to the start: Hwy 126 from Eugene towards the coast, turn North on Territorial Hwy to Elmira, West on Warthan Road, North on Falcon into the High School. We have been asked not to park on Falcon by the school and the county, so please make your way into the high school.

Changes/Corrections: Website is being updated.

Senior Women do race this weekend for their Championship. The website had it as both dates, sorry for the confusion.

Finish line: Is at the top of the Sheffler Road climb, this will shorten the races by about 2 miles overall.

We are also still in need of Volunteers for the race, drivers and corner marshalls. Trade your race entry for help during the race from a friend.

Thanks,
Richard

1 1/2 weeks to go for the first part of the Oregon State Championships on
June 10th. I have had some questions I wanted to share the answers to with
OBRA Land.

It is Oregon Cup Race #4 for the senior men, not their championship race.

Masters Race's, you must fall in the age bracket, this is not a 30+ race it
is a 30-39 year old race. Same goes for the next race on July 1st.

The race will be going clockwise on the race course and the finish will be
at the top of the longer climb on Sheffler Road. This is a gradual climb of
2%-4% about 1 1/2 miles long. We wanted to finish on the flats at the end of
the road but the permitting agency did not feel it was safe for the riders
and local traffic.

Day of race registration will close 1 hour before your race, be there in
time to register, warm-up and use the bathrooms.

If you are caught using nature or someones fence for the bathroom you will
be disqualified from the race. There will be portable toilets at the start
and at the finish area.

Registration is as follows:
Entry Fee: $20.00
Late Fee: After June 1st for Rehearsal $5.00 -- After June 20th for
Championship $5.00
Day of Race Entry Fee $25.00 ($30 pre-reg & $35 day of - total for Tandems)
Make all Checks payable to: SWEET SPORTS

The winner of each championship race will receive an OBRA State Championship
Jersey. Please make sure you stick around to collect it after your race.

Directions to the start are on the front page, we will be using the
Highschool so remember no Alcohol on the premises.

Figure on 1/2 hour drive West of Eugene on Hwy 126 for travel time, do watch
for the police in this area as it is a highly watched road.

We are only 2 1/2 weeks away from the first part of the Oregon Road

Championship races, the first race being the Rehearsal on May 24th.

Pre-registration ends very soon so make sure to get yours in and say the

$5.00, in the Tandem class we are asking for a minimum of 5

pre-registered teams (at least email me and tell me your coming).

Another reason to pre-register is to get one the cool custom Burley

Mussette bags we are doing. There will only be 100 available per event

and they are to the first 125 registered riders, they will include a

couple goodies as well.

There are a couple non-championship classes happening at the same time

to give those without a championship race a chance to race for cash and

prizes. Check out the flyer on our team website at

www.eugenecyclingteam.com.

If you can volunteer or bring a volunteer it is worth a discount on your

entry fees well as lunch and a mussette bag, I need to know ASAP if you

can do so. I need drivers and corner marshals. I am also looking for

someone that would be willing to drive the OBRA truck down and/or back

to Portland, this is worth a free entry and lunch.

See everyone this Saturday at The Even Steven Race,
