Correspondance from former Oregonian triathlete and bike racer Paolo Ciani, now living in Cortina, Italy:
I have a friend here in Italy whom I met at IM Hawaii in 1999. Went 9:39.
We have corresponded for neary four years and now he is writing an italian
book on triathlon. He told me the editor apparently is serious about the
project and wants to make a really nice book. He asked me for a good
picture of Dave Scott racing in Hawaii. He would also like one of Mark
Allen and possibly John Collins. I have original pictures of Mark and Dave
but they are in LA. Next time you get the chance, since you know so many
people in the circuit, could you please ask via internet or personally if
anyone has anything like that they would/could forward to my address. I
don't mind if you give it out. There will likely be no compensation if the
picture gets used but I'm sure the photographer will get credit.
