Well, two weeks agon in Eugene there was a criterium that even the >Eugenites did not show up to. Only 50 people went
to this event that was right down the street. And most of them came >from Portland. What happened to you riders from mid-state??
RESPONSE: Some riders were in WA and some where at the TT in Portland and some riders with their families because it was EASTER. The riders in Eugene really don't like crits, especial very tight ones. Personally, I am glad alot of riders did not show because it would of been really ugly on the very tight parking lot course. As for Even Stevens. The course is incredible and very scenic on logging roads south of Eugene. It is very challenging and there are some really cool safe descents. Even if you are a not an awesome climber this race is worth attending just to ride the course. The first 15 miles are rolling and the race should stay together till the first hill. The hills are not really steep and are broken up. It is definitely easier then any of the stages of the Columbia Plateau and the landscape is GREEN!! Hope To see you all at the race!!! that I just wrote that)
2. I have heard frequently from riders out of the Portland area tht PIR is
the death of weekend racing in the state. The fact that Portlander can race
5 days a week and ride there bikes to the events supposedly makes it so that

There is a new road race in your area tomorrow. Yes it is different. Yes
you CAt 5 will have to start with the CAt 2's but in order to keep events
locally you have to attend.
