Ernie,

I want to thank you for this info and a BIG thanks to everyone who is a
part of this! I am a teacher up at Corbett, and I know this is well
appreciated. My students work hard for every opportunity they get, and
things like this help them out a lot! So again, thanks to everyone who
helps make this happen!

Why register for OUCH: The Larch Mt Uphill Time Trial this year at: http://obra.org/events/22148/register with details at http://Consystency.Net/OBRA/OUCH because for our 12th year, we have something very special to share with you about being a part of our community.

For the 11 years of OUCH, I have been fortunate to be able to make a small donation on behalf of myself and OBRA to the North East Multnomah County Community Association at the end of the our humble event. The NEMCCA is able to earmark that donation as they feel best for the Corbett School District. NEMCCA’s support and OBRA’s interaction have grown over the years. Thanks to all of your support and help, I am pleased to announce the creation of a NEMCCA/OBRA Scholarship benefitting a graduating senior of the Corbett school district. While there are a few details still to work out, we plan to officially announce the scholarship to students in the fall.

The scholarship will be administered by The Corbett Education Foundation. CEF manages the school district’s scholarship program by accepting applications and awarding $500 scholarships to a graduating senior who will continue their education at a university, college, or approved vocational school. The goal of the CEF is to provide groups and organizations a way to provide an annual scholarship but not have to spend all of their time and resources administering the scholarship. OBRA will make a donation that will be matched by NEMCCA.

Why the partnership with OBRA? Because OBRA is the only organization outside the community that has developed a relationship with NEMCCA and has also given back to the community financially. A matching scholarship is the best way for NEMCCA to utilize the OUCH donation while honoring the positive influence of OBRA.

This new and hopefully on-going annual scholarship is possible because of the amazing support of our OBRA family and something we should all be proud of. Please join us this year at the 12th annual OUCH: The Larch Mountain Uphill Time Trial and be a part of our first annual NEMCCA/OBRA scholarship.

My thanks to everyone who has participated, watched, volunteered, or been in any way associated with OUCH and OBRA. You are a group of people who have helped raise the bar in both the racing and local communities.

Thank you so much!
