I second that advise, unfortunately it
exactly describes my experience.

I
should point out to everyone that it is really common for
cyclists to suffer significant injuries to the wrist that do
not initially cause much pain.  Some of those injuries can
cause significant long term disability which could be
decreased with initial treatment.  It is really common for
someone to come to me with an injury that is several month
old which is significant and now not so amenable to
treatment.  It is essential that anyone who falls and has a
sore wrist have examination and imaging done by a medical
provider who deals with this sort of injury.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Wrist & Hand Doc
recommendations?

Fell at Alsea Falls last month hard; (more
like endo'd)and left wrist/hand is still very sensitive to
pressure. I have it in a drugstore splint but I have this
nagging feeling if I did fracture a few bones it might heal
much quicker if I had it evaluated and treated. Obviously I
shouldn't have it let it go so long but I figured the pain
would subside as I've hit the deck in the past.

Can anyone recommend a Doc or clinic? I
have insurance but it's only major medical so I'll be paying
out of pocket- a doc whose business is willing to go the
"cash route" vs. higher rate if HMO is billed is preferable.

Let me know off line.
