Hi, folks:
It's nice to know that biking menhood gets all excited when it comes to women just like the rest of the "menly world"--- from Mr.Randleman's response to Mr. Kytola's poem--we saw the entire spectrum of emotions on OBRA Chat!:) Shirley Brown achieved her/gals' "primary objective", which was not to "penalize men"(for Lord sake), but, like ALWAYS boys, just to get your full attention:)
Q:Why should serious racers support pro-women race? A: Try to find a new 50-53 cm roadframe in a bikeshop--they have to order one for you! But, they will happily point you to some postings and you'll see:"For sale: LIKE NEW, 51cm...., or Under 100 miles, 52 cm..." You know what I'm talking about.. You can almost hear that angry little voice that told a guy to "Take it back, I don't want your bike and I'm sick of you, legshaving, funny-tasting sports beverages drinking and always falling asleep in a middle of my favorite weekend show IDIOT!" No, I'm not crossing the center line here guys, I'm only near it and, in this case, I'm rooting for you. The truth is, the gals who honestly think that the most romantic thing to do is to climb 4K elevation in one ride, or ride over 100 miles at 20+m/hr ARE NOT BORN, THEY ARE MADE!
Races like Even Seven help those kind of women to emerge and to develop into a stronger class of roadriders. LONG LIVE EVEN STEVEN!--you should cry out loud! Seriously, the technology changes faster than attitudes in this sport. But happily, if racers see the benefits to themselves they change their views and habbits as fast as they ride. Have you noticed, there are very few roadbikers w/out helmets these days--that's an example of point being proven many sad times. So, see you all at the next Even Steven...
